December 5, 2008 (InfoPowa News) — According to reports on the Swedish poker information website Poker Forum.nu, the state-controlled gambling organization Svenska Spel had the embarrassing experience of a failed online poker tournament recently when the firm's servers crashed during a major event.
Reports suggest that the tourney was proceeding well, but on the third day ran into technical difficulties and was closed down by the company, leaving 15 players still in the competition.
Svenska Spel tried to make good the situation by refunding the buy-ins of the remaining players, and splitting the prize pool proportionately according to chip stack sizes.
