Stake.com and Everton FC have announced what they are calling the team’s “highest ever” front-of-jersey sponsorship deal. Team officials say that the deal is the biggest sponsorship in the team’s 144-year history and marks a new era in improved revenue for the organization.
Just exactly how big the “highest ever” sponsorship deal for the Everton FC is remains something of a mystery as neither team officials nor Stake.com have provided that detail. But despite that, Everton FC and Stake.com are moving forward with a pretty standard deal involving jersey logo placement, web content and stadium promotions.
Founded in 2017, Stake.com has been aggressively pursuing sponsorship deals across a wide variety of sports and boasts relationships with Drake and UFC champions Israel Adesanya and Jose Aldo.
Everton FC has been similarly ambitious and recently took an early exit from the deal they had with their previous front-of-shirt sponsor, Cazoo.
Professor Denise Barrett-Baxendale, Chief Executive at Everton summed up the deal in a recent press release saying, “Stake.com is an ambitious organisation with impressive growth plans and we’re all very excited to enter into a partnership with them at this stage in their journey.”
“My talented colleagues in our new Revenue Team have made excellent progress in recent months and worked tirelessly to secure what is the biggest main partnership deal in the Club’s history – I’d like to congratulate them on this achievement and, on behalf of everyone at the Club, express my gratitude to Stake.com for choosing Everton as a long-term partner,” he added.
The deal comes at a time when UK gambling regulators are taking a hard look at this kind of marketing, so it’s very possible that deals like this one won’t be coming around much in the future.
