Doorway Pages
Doorway pages are web pages that have been optimized for a specific keyword, but are designed to funnel users to another, more relevant, page. SEOs have long used geographically targeted doorway pages targeted at phrases like, Phoenix drunk driving lawyer.
The problem with doorway pages is that they’re optimized so much that they don’t offer much in the way of value. They are, as the name implies, a doorway to another more meaningful page.
In Google’s eyes, doorway pages are designed exclusively to manipulate search engines and are seriously frowned upon. (The definition of Doorway Pages on Webmaster Tools specifically calls out affiliates who use doorway page templates.)
