New Jersey Wins Sports Betting Battle*
(*projected)
Ok, this one hasn’t happened yet, but legal sports betting in the US is no longer a pipe dream.
The State of New Jersey has not only hired the legal team that successfully secured the Bush presidency back in 2000, they’ve presented some really solid legal arguments for their case. (For example, they’ve asked the NFL to actually show how much damage regulated sports betting would cause to their multi-billion dollar product.)
Expect this fight to go all the way to the Supreme Court, but don’t be surprised if this is one of those times when the NFL (and NCAA, MLB, NBA and NHL) don’t get their way in Washington.
Happy Fourth of July!
