Online Poker’s Glory Days
Poker affiliates are, quite understandably, very nostalgic about the glory days of online poker. That boom era lased, approximately from 2003 to 2011.
That era started on the day Chris Moneymaker won the World Series of Poker after rising through the ranks from a $39 satellite tournament, launching the Texas Hold ‘Em craze. The Moneymaker Effect held strong until the whole house of cards collapsed on April 15, 2011 (a.k.a. Black Friday).
Though it’s generally good news, the new era of stars and stripes branded online poker has many affiliate wondering if they’ll actually get a piece of the new poker pie. From the looks of it, the big corporate boys are going to get most of the actin this go round.
