SEO bloggers have been declaring SEO dead for almost as long as there’s been SEO to declare dead.
While we don’t think that the practice of building bot-friendly website and content is going anywhere in 2013, this might be a good time to just not think about it so much.
Google’s made it very clear that quality links and quality content are new coin of the realm and that’s not such a bad thing. Customers are tired of calling up searches that are loaded with garbage content and that low-quality stuff can’t be helping conversions.
If you’re really looking for an SEO New Year’s resolution, just commit yourself to increasing quality and really hunting down good links. It might take some time, but the results are more than worthwhile.
