Italy — the largest online gaming market in Europe — is quickly becoming more of a focal point for international iGaming brands. Playtech and Caesars Entertainment (formerly Harrah’s) announced their plans to enter the Italian online gaming market in recent weeks; Income Access has just launched a huge affiliate network there; and now Prima Networks Limited is planning to make a splash in Italy, too.
Practically all at once, Prima announced that it’s supplying Neomobile with gaming software for its Italian casino offering, and that it’s received approval from the Italian government to expand its existing online bingo network.
Prima, a Microgaming-powered system, now has an online bingo network that’s certified by Amministrazione Autonoma dei Monopoli di Stato (AAMS), Italy’s state gaming authority, the company stated in a news release.
The bingo network is “under the master licence of Federbingo, with the first two Italian operators being Stravinci and Bingo Oro,” the news release continued, explaining that Federbingo is an association of land-based bingo halls making the move online.
“The network will launch with the intention to provide Federbingo associated land-based bingo halls, with the opportunity to establish and develop a presence in the online gaming space.”
“This recent AAMS certification represents a huge step forward to establishing Prima Networks Limited as the premier Italian Bingo operation,” Prima Networks Limited Director Loraine Schoevers said, “and we look forward to the imminent launch of Federbingo and Bingo Oro.”
That’s not just talk, apparently; Prima’s new alliance with Neomobile could give it the edge not only in online casino gaming but also the fast-growing mobile sector, as well. Neomobile is a mobile entertainment leader in Italy and Brazil (after acquiring Zero9 in 2010), and is “among the top players in Spain, France, Turkey, Mexico and India”.
The announcement follows Prima’s announcement in September that it was entering the French online gambling market in partnership with 888.
