June 29, 2010 (CAP News Wire) – PartyGaming has received a license to offer online sports betting and Internet poker services in the French market. The online sports betting services will commence immediately; the Internet poker services can begin when the French online poker market is officially open (that’s expected to be later this month).
The online sports betting market has opened a bit earlier in anticipation of the ongoing World Cup games, which began on June 11; the online poker market is still in the process of being prepared. When opened, France is expected to be one of the biggest online gaming markets in the world, presenting significant opporunties to online gambling brands as well as the affiliate marketers who promote them.
“PartyGaming has signed three B2B deals this year to form a French poker network with PMU, AB Groupe and Aviation Club de France,” reports FinancialBusinessNewsWire.com. “The group says this network will now benefit from pooled poker player liquidity.”
PokerStars, Chilipoker, and Partouche Poker were also among the companies awarded licenses, according to CardPlayer.com.
