There’s an old song that goes, “Every party has a pooper, that’s why we invited you.” Throughout the brief history of online gambling, the US Department of Justice has played the role of party pooper over and over and over.
Between blocking US players from offshore sports betting site to shutting down the online poker industry, the DOJ is always ready to throw water on a good time.
Though they’ve mellowed out a bit in the past few years, DOJ attorneys still regularly make life difficult for anyone in the gambling industry. Life for everyone in the business would be a lot easier if these guys would stick to catching real bad criminal and leave the igaming business alone.
