November 6, 2008 (InfoPowa News) — The expulsion of NextPoker.com from the Ongame poker network looks set to generate more income for the legal profession, with the poker website owners Abbantina Malta Limited considering legal action against the network for accusing it of rakeback violations.
Abbantina issued a statement this week saying that the Ongame allegations that it indulged in repeated rakeback violations were "totally false."
"Nextpoker launched on Ongame in the summer of 2007 in the hope of joining a major, rakeback-free, network," the statement said. "It soon became clear that Ongame was far from rakeback-free."
The operator substantiates this by claiming that "special agreements" with Ongame have resulted in several skins on the network offering rakeback to end customers, starting what it describes as a vicious and highly competitive bonus war which adversely impacts the margins of small- to medium-size operators on the network.
