Ambitious online bingo software provider Parley Entertainment has announced the Internet’s “first truly integrated social bingo application,” set to launch in weeks.
The game is based on Wonder Interactive’s WonderBingo Facebook game, launched just a few months ago in November 2010, and already boasting more than 400,000 subscribers. The game estimates the new subscriber rate at about 2,000 per day.
Now, Parlay is taking that popularity to the greater online community. The new Internet bingo offering “combines the community features and assets used within the Facebook application with Parlay’s award-winning bingo technologies – all within a true online gaming environment,” per a news release.
The new social bingo application will feature community rankings, friending, updates, profiles, and many more of the hallmarks of social networking games. It’s scheduled for launch in mid-February 2011.
“We are very pleased with the success of WonderBingo and we look forward to the launch of this truly unique gaming product for Internet bingo,” said Jacob Fuller, President of Wonder Interactive. “We acknowledge that the success of our WonderBingo product on Facebook clearly demonstrates the demand for social content. We expect excellent reception of these same features within an Internet bingo gaming environment and believe that the social hooks within the game will keep our players faithful to WonderBingo.”
Parlay has been working to open up new business opportunities in recent months, with this move potentially part of a larger plan to increase the company’s valuation ahead of a possible new merger.
