Phil Ivey is Really Good at Baccarat
We all know that Phil Ivey is one of the best, if not the best, poker player on the planet.
Poker, as you might know, is considered a game of skill and not a game of chance. Bacarrat, as you might also know, is more of a game of chance – with odds slightly better than a coin flip.
So while no one is surprised to see Ivey raking in the big pots at the WSOP, the owners of the Crockford Casino in London were very surprised to see him walk away with $12 million after a couple nights of Punto Banco (Baccarat) play.
They were more than surprised and are now crying, “foul,” over Ivey’s big win. Crockfords withheld Ivey’s winnings and are accusing him of memorizing flaws in the cards to fleece the venerable casino.
No matter who’s in the right here, someone’s going to walk away unhappy.
