Wolves in Sheep’s Clothing
Spend enough time in the casino affiliate and you’ll eventually meet one or two really sleazy characters like the CPAYS aff manager LandofOz encountered back in the day:
Back when cpays was new, I had a domain name that was ranking #1 in google for the word roulette for over 6 months.
As soon as it started ranking, my dodgey cpays affiliate manager telephoned me and told me that he’d like to redesign the site for free because it looked very amateur and would convert much better if it had a professional design.
He said he’d offer me 40% rev share. I agreed.
A couple of weeks later I received the static html site in a zipped folder, and as per his instructions, I unzipped it and uploaded it as is.
The site continued to rank #1 for roulette, but I didn’t see any results. Then one day I decided to check the linking codes and found out that they weren’t even mine. I was sooo angry.
The next time that low life called, I let him have it. Suffice to say, we never spoke again and that was the last time that I worked with such a dodgey program.
It’s like the old saying, if an offer seems too good to be true, then it probably is…
