MGM Resorts and GVC Holdings are pairing up on a deal to bring the MGM brand to the burgeoning New Jersey online gambling market.
The new brand will be operating under the name playMGM and is scheduled to begin operations sometime this year, according to a press release from MGM.
This isn’t the first time these two companies have worked together and it’s not even the first time they’ve worked together to bring a product to the New Jersey online gambling market. GVC is already providing software and support services to MGM’s Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa.
The Borgata already operates one of the most successful online gambling brands in the Garden State.
MGM also announced that playMGM players would benefit from the company’s popular M Life rewards program, which will be integrated into the new products.
Corey Sanders, Chief Operating Officer of MGM Resorts, gushed over the new deal saying:
T.his is a historic moment for MGM Resorts to be launching real money online casino and poker under the MGM brand for the first time. GVC has been a first-rate partner for us, and we are excited about the possibilities of extending that partnership as regulated markets open up in the U.S.
On the GVC side of the deal, Chief Operating Officer Shay Segev participated in the same corporate group hug saying:
We are delighted to extend our relationship with MGM Resorts and to be launching casino and poker under the playMGM brand in New Jersey. MGM Resorts is quite simply one of the biggest and best names in the business, and we look forward to working with them for many years to come.
As a company, MGM Resorts has been a vocal supporter of regulated US online gambling and its expected to support this kind of activity in other US states.
