Mark Zuckerberg once said “The age of privacy is over.” Most likely, he was referring to the open nature of sharing information over the Internet. His adversaries and critics have a more cynical interpretation of this statement. Whatever the case, Zuckerberg may never have thought he would see the day when that statement rang true for him.
Facebook has long been criticized for its apparent lack of concern over its privacy settings. Many security flaws have been exposed over the past few years. A new security flaw was discovered recently, which allegedly inspired a prankster to test it against Facebook’s founder.
United States engineer Mike Rundle is believed to be the mastermind behind the prank. Rundle allegedly discovered a flaw in Facebook’s photo reporting tool, which made it possible for users to gain access to private photos.
It didn’t take long for Zuckerberg’s private photos to go viral. Most of the photos were pretty tame. Zuckerberg had a few photos of himself with his dog, Beast, and his girlfriend Priscilla. Another photo showed Zuckerberg speaking with Barrack Obama. Perhaps the most embarrassing photo was of him holding a live chicken.
According to some members here at Casino Affiliate Programs, Zuckerberg’s lifestyle seems to put him in a pretty nice light. Some members here have commented on his choice of lifestyle, citing his modest $7 million mansion. One member even went so far as to say: “Yah, I know poorer guys who live better… and go flashing it around.”
Unfortunately, there don’t appear to be any photos of Zuckerberg stoned, trolling a game of beer pong or getting lap dances from Vegas strippers. However, the fact Zuckerberg got burnt by flaws in the security settings of his own site may inspire him to take new measures to fix flaws in Facebook’s security settings. Perhaps not, but the Facebook founder must face a lesson in humility nonetheless.
