February 9, 2009 (InfoPowa News) — Industry people exhibiting and attending the must-visit ATEI, ICE(i) and International Gaming Expo shows in London each year will not be seeing the friendly and efficient Karen Cooke at these venues next year. Clarion Gaming's head of exhibitions announced her decision to step down this week.
Cooke, who has a wealth of experience in the gaming and gambling sectors, ends a nine-year association with the exhibitions, the last four of which she spent at the helm of the shows.
Explaining her decision, she confirmed: “I have experienced the exhibitions first as an exhibitor and then an organiser. Professionally, 2009 was a very successful show and I feel comfortable that now is the right time to take some time out and recharge the batteries. I will then be taking up another role within the gaming industry. I have been flattered and heartened by the good wishes I have received from members of both the gaming and amusements sectors since news of my decision broke.”
Peter Rusbridge, Chief Executive of Clarion Gaming, stated: “Karen is a one-off and we are very sad to see her go. She played a central role in smoothing the integration of the shows into the Clarion portfolio and was pivotal in the development and successful launch of the International Gaming Expo. But she is leaving the shows in the capable hands of the existing and highly experienced team, which has already commenced planning for 2010.”
