Odd alliances and the Internet’s ever-churning rumor mills are always buzzing about potential igaming alliances, acquisitions and mergers, and they recently came up with a doozy. Last week, a number of websites reported that Google may be planning to purchase bwin.party.
The story first broke on the Mail’s Market Report Blog earlier this month, but not much has been said since then. Reporter Geoff Foster speculated that Google would pick up the struggling operator at a fire sale price and hang on to it until the US regulated market really picked up.
While that theory sounds pretty good, it remains speculation and rumor until further notice.
