Online Gaming in Schleswig-Holstein
The convention tool place in Norderstedt on January 16th, 2012. It was a one-day event focused on the new gaming license, regulation and tendering procedure in the German iGaming space.
In Germany, until the end of 2011 the gambling market was controlled by 16 Lander States, and the national law was quite strict. That is until the northern State of Schleswig-Holstein has taken the first step towards deregulation of the current system and introducing a new one, opening the market to licensed businesses.
