February 28, 2012: Calvin Ayre Indicted
Prosecutors at the DOJ don’t forgive and they don’t forget. Just last week, the DOJ and Department of Homeland Security shuttered Bodog.com and indicted its flamboyant founder Calvin Ayre on gambling and money laundering charges.
Ayre has long been a thorn in the side of Federal authorities who seem bent on making an example of the billionaire playboy. It’s unlikely that Ayre is going to surrender to the Feds and the move seemed more of a warning to other sites that online gambling isn’t legal…yet.
