Ray Lesniak
New Jersey State Senator Ray Lesniak is the political force behind Governor Chris Christie’s grand ambitions for Garden State gambling.
Lesniak, a Democrat, doesn’t always see eye-to-eye with the state’s Republican Governor, but he’s smart enough to work out their differences in hopes of saving what’s left of Atlantic City.
And just so we’re clear, Lesniak is as tough a Jersey guy as you’re going to meet. When asked by CalvinAyre.com about the possibility of losing championship games if sports betting is legalized he had this to say:
If we win it means billions of dollars to us so I don’t care about their championship games…other states are going to follow suit…they’re going to institute sports betting. The NCAA will have to have their Championships in Salt Lake City.
