The race to win over market share in the regulated US sports betting space is heating up this fall as FanDuel teams up with YouTube and YouTube TV to deliver a discount on the NFL Sunday Ticket. It’s a deal that both makes strange bedfellows from a sportsbooks and streaming platform and offers some new betting products aimed at amateurs.
NFL Sunday is a premium service that allows viewers to watch every NFL football game, whether it’s showing in their market or not. This year, the service is being offered exclusively through YouTube and YouTube TV for the first time ever. FanDuel is offering a promo code for $100 off a season’s subscription to the Sunday Ticket to players who make a $5 bet.
Along with the Sunday Ticket promo, FanDuel is launching a suite of new betting products that are aimed at America’s large population of inexperienced, casual sports bettors called Flutter Explore. This product breaks sports betting down into relatively simple story lines such as “who is going to win this game?”. FanDuel is also launching a series of how-to videos for sports betting noobs at the same time.
Mike Raffensperger, Chief Commercial Officer of FanDuel commented on the Sunday Ticket promotion recently in a press release saying, “Partnering with YouTube to help deliver NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube and YouTube TV to our customers places FanDuel squarely at the intersection of one of the most valued sports and media offerings in the world. This partnership makes FanDuel the only category partner making it easier for fans to access every out-of-market Sunday afternoon NFL game and elevates the sports betting and entertainment experience for millions of fans across the United States.”
FanDuel’s Sunday Ticket promotion runs through September 18.
