DraftKings is partnering with Incentive Games to provide free-to-play games to its customers in states where regulated sports betting is legal. The hope behind the partnership is that a robust portfolio of free-to-play games will be an incentive to snare players in the incredibly tight, and red-hot, US sports betting market.
When the deal is up and running, Incentive Games, an Edinborough-based company, will be providing DraftKings’ players with a daily free game. In this case, the games will almost all be sports-related and are aimed at players who wouldn’t necessarily be playing traditional casino games.
US-facing operators are looking for any edge to make their product stand out in an increasingly competitive market. Free-to-play games are an incentive that are known to increase player both player acquisition and retention.
In a statement to the press reported on by GamblingInsider.com, Incentive CEO, John Gordon commented on the DraftKings partnership saying, “We have taken our time to choose the best partner for us in the US. It was clear from the first meeting that FanDuel was that partner. They have a great culture, and we believe in their vision for the product. We are delighted to be working with the FanDuel brand and company, and we hope this is the start of things to come.”
Andrew Gradwell, VP of iGaming Product for FanDuel Group was similarly enthused saying, “We are always looking for ways to offer more engaging ways to deliver value to our players, and we believe Incentive’s daily free game mechanic will allow us to excel in this area.”
