Donald Trump is well known for many things, including his real estate holdings, hotels, and casinos. Now, it appears that Trump is ready to dive into the online gambling market once it becomes legalized in the United States.
Various reports have Trump Entertainment Resorts in talks with 888 Holdings regarding the potential of the industry and how to best move forward in the near future.
Despite the fact that 888 is not currently involved in the US online gaming market, the company is well known the world over for its prowess in this market. Additionally, 888 has already setup a partnership with Caesars Interaction Entertainment.
Last year, Trump began to show interest in online gambling. Once legalized in the US, he plans on teaming up with Marc Lasry of the Avenue Capital Group to offer form an internet gaming company.
Brian Mattingly, CEO of 888, is excited about the prospects of future growth in the United States.
“We have a unique position in the U.S. allowing the launch of a real money offering immediately as either federal or state based regulation is finalized and upon licensing by gaming authorities.”
Although Donald Trump has never been involved with online gaming in the past, his experience with brick and mortar casinos has him ready to take full advantage of the industry when legalized in the US. A partnership with 888 could make for an interesting story line!
