When it comes to your affiliate marketing, how are you doing business – like a cubicle dwelling accountant or a powerful drug dealer?
All kidding aside, depending on which you pick, your sales could be rolling in a lot better. For those that are more of a hidden business, you can be losing sales and not even realize it. Well, here are some tips to help you become that powerful man on the top rung:
1. Be the expert on your goods
Any good dealer knows their goods inside and out, and you should too if you want this power. Think about it: are you going to buy a car from some guy that has no idea what size engine is has, what it comes with, or even what color it is? Heck no you aren’t! Yet, the guy next door knows the car inside and outside, can tell you everything you could ever want to ask about the car right down to the crazy name for the paint like Golden Hawaiian Sunset In Spring.
You’re probably going to buy the car from him, because he took the time to learn everything about that car. The same is true for affiliate marketing – if you don’t know squat about what you’re selling, how are you going to sell it confidently?
2. Build your network of “sales associates”
Any good dealer also knows that you need a solid network of people to help you be successful. Well, you need that same type of network with affiliate marketing – yet it doesn’t all have to be people.
You need to make sure you have a solid network in place with several factors: your site/blog, affiliate partners, and a large social network. Without all of these things in place, you are missing out on a large area of support where you will end up losing a lot of sales.
3. Be aggressive
Just like that old cheer, “Be Aggressive, B-E aggressive, B-E A-G-G-R-E-S-S-I-V-E” – this is what you need to be. Dealers are aggressive and you won’t be successful like one until you are too. You have to work to build your site, work to build your network, and you have to work to drive traffic to your site. If you don’t take a stance and decide to be aggressive with your affiliate marketing, then you’re going to get left behind by someone else who is.
The moral of the article is that you need to start thinking like your affiliate products are a “drug” that everyone wants – they just may not know that they can’t live without it yet.
But hey, don’t take this article too literally. We aren’t.
