February 2, 2009 (InfoPowa News) — Further details are now available on the mobile gambling deal recently inked by U.K. mobile technology provider Mfuse and the Swedish online gambling company Betsson.
The three-year deal includes a sports betting product that will enable Betsson to launch one of the first mobile betting services in Scandinavia. The new service has been scheduled for a spring debut and will feature both Java and mobile Internet formats and Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish, Turkish, Polish, Spanish, French, Greek, Italian, German, and English language facilities.
Mfuse's marketing director, Charles Palmer, described the deal as a landmark for his company: “This is a landmark deal for Mfuse as we continue to execute our strategy of expanding into the European gaming market," he said. "Betsson is a fast-growing, dynamic company that knows how to make the mobile gambling channel a success. By working closely with the Betsson team, we will be able to deliver exciting m-gaming products to the Scandinavian markets."
Palmer is right in his assessment of Betsson, which has more than 120,000 active online customers, annual revenues in excess of $110 million, and current growth of around 50 percent a year, expanding by 1,200 percent since 2005.
Thomas Kalita, Chief Executive Officer for Betsson Malta Limited, revealed that Mfuse is to provide Betsson with the latest generation in sports betting technology alongside the newest developments in user interface design with a full suite of multi-bets and live in-play betting.
"Following a strategic review of the market, we chose Mfuse to provide our mobile service due to their extensive knowledge and experience in mobile gambling technology,” he said. "In addition, they can provide both sports betting and casino games, meaning we can offer a consistent mobile experience to our customers."
