Daily Racing Form (DRF), the leading name in horse racing information since 1894, is getting ready to launch two new mobile betting site DRF Bets and DRF Sports. The new sites will feature localized sports betting content and could make DRF a competitive player in the booming regulated US sports betting industry.
DRF Bets, and DRF Sports in particular, are part of a larger strategy to break DRF out of its traditional audience of horse racing enthusiasts. The new site will feature plenty of localized college and professional sports content, as well as free-to-play pick ’ems and other games. More importantly, DRF Bets plans on offering legal sports betting on the sites as it rolls out, state-by-state.
Itay Fisher, Chief Executive Officer of DRF parent group, Sports Information Group spoke of DRF Bets and DRF Sports on the DRF website saying, “We are passionate about continuing to grow our sports business and focused on executing our ambitious plans to deliver a world-class, digital sports betting product to sports fans across the U.S. DRF has always provided the best handicapping, analytics and news content to horse racing enthusiasts using data-driven insights, and now we have expanded our offerings online and on mobile with the launch of DRF Sports. Our vision is to replicate the successful business model we have built within the racing community to provide unique betting content alongside a best-in-class sportsbook that will position us to ultimately take bets from every state.”
Daily Racing Form is known as, “the only data provider in the U.S. dedicated solely to the coverage of a single sport,” so the new sites represent a major leap forward for the venerable brand.
