Cake Network’s American players got a big surprise yesterday when the company announced that it would no long be taking their action. News of the move came out in an e-mail sent to players and affiliate partners.
According to the e-mail, the Cake Network Affiliates program has contracted with Juicy Stakes Games Ltd. in a new affiliate program that will include the American players. Company officials are expecting a smooth transition for players and affiliate partners.
Cake’s No Stranger to Change
This isn’t the first big change that Cake Poker players and partners have seen this year. Earlier this week Juicy Stakes Poker purchased all of Cake’s US players, along with Colt Poker, Fugu Poker, and Hilife Poker’s Americans.

Though there’s been no official announcement, the moves are probably aimed at getting right with the US Department of Justice. Poker sites that are currently taking US players aren’t likely to get in on legal online poker in the United States.
