Caesars Interactive Entertainment will be in a hearing this week, prepared to get an intrastate online poker license from the Nevada Gaming Commission. This will be a “must have” license, as they are not just a huge gaming brand in the US but also the proud owners of the World Series of Poker brand.
It gets even better, as riding on the “coat tails” of the approved gaming license will be 888 Holdings PLC, which owns DragonFish, and since 2010 has been running Caesar’s World Series of Poker online poker site in the UK. The existing partnership looks strong at this point and both sides are committed to taking full advantage of this US online gaming license in Nevada.
Mitch Garber, chief executive officer of Caesars Interactive Entertainment, said, “888 has been successfully driving the World Series of Poker brand in the UK for the past three years, and with current momentum toward either a Federal or State by State regulatory environment, 888 is uniquely positioned to support either outcome, without delay.”
There have been several Nevada based companies that have recently applied including Hard Rock Casino. Even the big boys in the market will have to meet the strict Nevada requirements to get a legal gaming license.
