Caesars Entertainment Teams with Eastern Band of Cherokees on Va. Casino


Caesars Entertainment is teaming with the Eastern Band of Cherokees Indians (EBCI) on a $650 million Virginia casino project that’s set to open sometime in 2024. The project is being touted as both an engine of job creation and a regional tourist magnet that could offer economic benefits for generations.

Located in Danville, Caesars Virginia is a massive project that includes a 500-room hotel, 1,300 slot machines, and 85 gaming tables. This is in addition to a 2,500 square foot entertainment facility and 40,000 square feet of convention center space.

Caesars Virginia will be mostly run by Caesars Entertainment, but the EBCI and a local investor will act as partners in the venture.

In a recent statement to the press, Anthony Carano, President and Chief Operating Officer for Caesars Entertainment. touted the new project saying, “We are excited to build a world-class Caesars resort in Danville with the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, a valued partner of Caesars Entertainment for more than 20 years. Caesars’ diverse collection of destinations across the U.S. is synonymous with unparalleled service, impressive benefits through our Caesars Rewards loyalty program, superstar entertainment talent and culinary excellence. We will bring these same phenomenal offerings to the Danville region for people to enjoy.”

Richard Sneed, Principal Chief of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians was similarly enthused adding, “This venture is a vital opportunity for our nation and our people. We are excited to be expanding our longstanding and successful partnership with Caesars Entertainment to develop a first-class resort that will be defined by luxury and service that Caesars’ guests have known and come to expect.”

Caesars is the largest US casino entertainment company with more than 50 managed and co-managed properties.
