Bodog.Uk Shuts Down Poker Operations

Bodog is shutting down poker and sports betting operations on its Bodog.uk as part of an effort to focus on the booming Asian Pacific gaming market.
For now, the entire Bodog.UK site is completely shut down and will be shuttered and reopened as a casino-only site in the near future.
The new Bodog.uk site will feature more live dealer gaming and an emphasis on games that appeal to the Asian market, like Baccarat. Bodog officials announced plans last week to focus the site on the Asian expat market, which they estimate to be as large as 100 million strong.
Recently, Bodog.eu pulled out of 20 European markets in another effort to better focus their efforts on profitability.
What it Means for Affiliate Partners
Here’s a quick breakdown of what these moves mean for affiliate partners.

  • Bodog.eu – Bodog’s Euro-players are currently being redirected to Betting Partners’ sites that serve their country. Affiliate partners will continue to receive revenue from those players who sign up with Betting Partners.
  • Bodog.uk – Players on this site will have the option of cashing out or sticking with the casino-only version of the site. Affiliate partners might consider presenting their Bodog.uk sports betting and poker players with other options.

Bodog’s exit from the European poker market could be an indication that they’re not interested in competing with the PokerStars and their re-launch of the Full Tilt Poker site.
