Maybe, deep down in our collective hearts, we knew that American online poker wasn’t going to light up the skies like the Luxor beacon. At the same time, most of us thought it would do a whole lot better than it has.
So far, igaming has failed to live up to expectations in the three states that currently offer it. Ultimate Gaming, the first-to-market in Nevada, have already thrown in the towel and shut down their online poker operation entirely.
Is the failure due to the limited player pool in Nevada, Delaware and New Jersey? Or are Americans still not convinced that the carpet won’t be pulled out from under them like it was on Black Friday?
The answers to these questions will be answered over the next few years as more states choose to embrace online gambling, or bypass it entirely.
