Full Tilt Poker’s American players played were the big losers when the Black Friday indictments came rolling down. Not only did many of them lose their livelihoods, all of them lost every penny that was sitting in their FTP accounts.
As the years rolled on, the likelihood of ever seeing that cash again faded into the scenery; until the Rational Group saved the day.
The online poker giant (operator of PokerStars) paid the US Government around $500 billion to take control of the venerable online brand and also settle the score with its US players.
As the remittance clock ran down at the end of November, only a fraction of those players had actually filed a claim. (Spoiler Alert: Any unclaimed cash goes back to the Feds.)
