Bettson is jumping into the social gaming market with a new sports product called, MyFootball Connect. The new app uses Premier League soccer as the basis for a bingo-style social game and community.
MyFootball Connect offers players social features, like chat, as well as real prizes like jerseys. The game is available both as a download at the Apple Apps Store or on Facebook.
Gameplay seems to be a hybrid of bingo and in-play betting. Players start out with a board and attempt to fill in square until they’ve connected four in any direction. Squares are filled as the players complete achievements like scoring goals or making assists.
In an company press release, Betsson CEO Magnus Silfverberg made it clear that the company is just testing the social gaming waters with MyFootball Connect.
This is an interesting new segment for our operational subsidiaries and we want to learn more about its potential. We are very excited about this new product and the partnership with (developer) One-up.
So far Betsson hasn’t made any attempts at real-money social gaming, but it will be interesting to see if MyFootball Connect evolves into something like that.
