BetMGM and the National Hockey League (NHL) are extending their gaming partnership in a multi-year deal that was announced this week. The deal includes plenty of screen time for BetMGM on NHL broadcasts, league-branded casinos, and an educational element focusing on issues related to problem gambling.
When gaming operators team up with professional sports leagues, one of their main goals is developing and extending their brands and this deal is no exception. Under the terms of the partnership, BetMGM will see their logo placed in highly visible throughout NHL broadcasts. This includes regular season games as well as hockey’s extended Stanley Cup Playoff series. That logo placement includes virtual placement on-ice during games via the league’s Digitally Enhanced Dashboards.
Like a lot of recent partnerships between gaming operators and professional sports leagues, this one also included an element promoting responsible gambling. Both the NHL and BetMGM are official partners of the American Gaming Association’s Have A Game Plan. Bet Responsibly program and will be promoting the virtues of responsible betting on a regular basis.
Jason Jazayeri, NHL Vice President, Business Development touted the deal in a recent press release saying, “We are thrilled about our partnership extension with BetMGM,” “The evolution of our partnership with BetMGM will focus on building unique and compelling fan experiences, as well as event activation and media programming all with an eye towards delivering exciting new ways for our fans to interact and engage with the sport they love.”
said BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt was similarly enthusiastic adding, “Our partnership extension with the NHL is a winner. It enables us to enhance the BetMGM product and offer our fans unforgettable experiences built around the game they love,”
