Starting next month, a bevy of online gambling conferences is hitting the Mediterranean, providing EU-based affiliates with a great chance to network and make new connections.
It’s no surprise that Spain and Italy are the focus of these upcoming events. These are two big online gambling markets (Italy is estimated to be the EU’s biggest) that are currently issuing new licenses for online gambling sites.
EiG Milan
Just ten days after the highly anticipated 2011 Barcelona Affiliate Conference (read about the 2011 BAC here), from Monday, September 19, to Thursday, September 22, the 10th Annual European iGaming Congress & Expo (EiG) is invading Milan, Italy.
Unlike the BAC, the EiG isn’t focused specifically on affiliate marketing. But that doesn’t mean there’s not lots there to interest affiliates, all the same. With sessions like “Securing a competitive edge in your vertical”, “Focusing on the customer for improved player acquisition and retention”, and “Website launch case study: Personalising your marketing approach” there’s definitely plenty for affiliates to learn — especially for those affiliates with aspirations to take their online gambling business to the next level. (And those webmasters should definitely check out the Start-Up LaunchPad.)
Conference sponsors and exhibitors also include brands very familiar to affiliates, such as Playtech and 888’s Dragonfish and even iGaming Business, host to the BAC and iGB España (see below).

iGB España
Continuing its focus on the Spanish and Mediterranean markets, iGB Affiliate, the masterminds behind the Barcelona Affiliate Conference, have announced that iGB España is returning to Madrid in November.
Why all the focus on Spain? In November, event reps explain, Spain will see “the public tender for license applications taking place.
“These are to be awarded by December 31st. A defining moment for gambling in Spain and anyone trading in the Spanish market will require good working knowledge to be able to run a successful Spanish campaign.”
As we’ve recently explained, those affiliates interested in the Spanish market need to have an understanding of the Spanish culture to succeed. iGB España offers that, and more: The event will also offer education and discussion on topics such as casino affiliate marketing in Spain, mobile marketing strategies, and of course, social media and SEO.
“We had over 400 delegates through the door last year,” says Alex Pratt, iGB head honcho. “We’ve had a huge amount of interest already in this event, especially with regulation only months away in Spain. Having established iGB España as the meeting place for the Spanish-speaking sector over the last few years, we can safely guarantee at least 500 executives.”
iGB España is free for affiliates. Register or learn more here.
