January 19, 2010 (CAP Newswire) — Bwin Games AB, the gaming business and development subsidiary of Bwin Interactive Entertainment, has hired a new managing director in an effort to expand on the business-to-business (B2B) branch of the Austrian online betting powerhouse.
Meet the new boss: Peter Bertilsson, recently from Boss Poker and technology investment business Ice House.
“We have convinced a true veteran of online gaming B2B to take the challenge leading this business unit,” commented Bwin co-chief executive Norbert Teufelberger, per eGaming Review. “As the market environment changes in that fast moving industry, B2B capabilities will be key for the USA and Asia but also for riding the regulation wave in Europe.” Read the eGaming Review article here.
Bwin is certainly not the only online gambling company looking to B2B as the future of its earnings. Almost a year ago, 888 launched its B2B arm Dragonfish, and has been signing a string of high-profile online gambling business deals since then. PartyGaming has also recently entered into a B2B agreement with the Danish government, and Paddy Power launched a B2B arm aimed at the French market.
