888Poker has announced that will be the official sponsor of the 2016 World Series of Poker.
The deal includes plenty of high profile sponsorship perks but the most interesting to casino affiliates has to be the 888Poker Satellite Tournaments. As part of their deal with the World Series of Poker, 888 will be hosting a number of tournaments whose prizes include a buy-in at the big event.
Besides the satellite tournaments, 888Poker will also get the opportunity to slap its logo on anything and everything at the tournament. That means the legion of WSOP TV viewers will be well exposed to the 888 brand.
This is a particularly good year for 888Poker to sign on with the World Series of Poker as most observers think this will be the biggest WSOP to date. According to the official event schedule, there are a record 69 bracelets in play this year.
Not surprisingly, 888 executives are extremely excited to be partnering with the World Series of Poker. In a statement to the press, Senior Vice President & Head of B2C at 888 Holdings Itai Pazner described his company’s involvement saying:
he World Series of Poker is the pinnacle of the poker calendar and during the Main Event the eyes of the poker world are on the action in Las Vegas. In 2015 we made dreams come true for Tommy Yates and renewing our partnership will help to get more 888 players from all over the world to the WSOP again this year. The sponsorship is fantastic for the 888poker brand, for 888 players, and for the poker community more generally.
Given the high profile nature of the World Series of Poker, 888’s sponsorship investment should certainly be considered money well spent.
