Now that Zynga is eying the online gaming industry’s way of doing business, it’s time to hire an executive from one of the biggest companies in the industry. Ex 888 Maytal Ginzburg will now be the new chief operating officer in charge of new markets.
Zynga has obviously realized that they need to ramp up their personnel with online gaming executives so they can put marketing strategies in place much like the industry they want to emulate. Ginzburg has an impress background in customer acquisition at 888 over a two-year period and now the test will be to see if she can do the same for Zynga.
Since Zynga went public in 2011, shares of the company have gone down 70%. They have announced that they will launch real-money versions of its online poker and casino games by 2013.
Now the task at hand will be to convert even a small percentage of that large millions of gamers base. Even a small conversion rate of poker players playing for real money would create a sizable poker pool.
It was only a matter of time before Zynga started recruiting gaming professionals and now they can really start to prepare for a more profitable future.
