Nevada Leads Online Poker Race
In the race to be the first state offering legal online poker, Nevada is pulling way ahead of the competition. Given the state’s well-established industry, this isn’t much of a surprise. It’s very likely that the Nevada Gaming Commission will be granting the first-ever US online gambling licenses to Bally Technologies any day now.
Nevada’s licensing finesse has set off a flurry of partnerships and strategic alliances between big casino companies and iGaming software providers.
So far Nevada is only planning on offering online poker to in-state residents, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see them enter into some kind of online gaming compact with other states in the future.
