BetOnline.com – When it comes to mobile web design, sometimes less is more, and sometimes less is just not enough. That’s the case with BetOnline.com.
This mobile site looks more like a work-in-progress than an actual, functional website. (In all fairness, BetOnline is definitely not the only site that uses this particular design template.)
It’s hard to imagine that any of BetOnline’s first-time mobile users would see this page and think, “I’ve stumbled on a legitimate sports wagering site.”
Branding is an important factor in website design so there’s no reason to give up branding capital for a mobile site. Mobile sites need to scream credibility and if you’ve already established credibility on your desktop site, you’re just shooting yourself in the foot if you flush it away when you go mobile.
