What’s even more interesting is that these articles provide some serious insight into the 800 million Facebook users. Turns out more middle-aged parents are sharing articles than the teeny boppers and young adults you’d expect.

Did you read any of these this year? I’m afraid the only I saw in 2011 was “At funeral, dog mourns the death of Navy SEAL killed in Afghanistan.” I guess I’ll have to start sharing more to establish a better presence on Facebook!
I guess it shows that trending news is what spreads faster virally – but maybe for a shorter period of time? Whereas a Viral comedy skit might go viral, but at a slower longer staying pace?
I remember reading about the dog and the solider in the local news website, and seeing before and after photos of the japan tsunami – that was intense, and the footage of the wall of water rushing across the land wiping out everything in its path – still feels no so real.
