Who hear plays the products they promote.
Whether it be for testing, to do reviews, or just because you like to gamble.
I know a few people are players as well as affiliates. I used to play and affiliate – but I just affiliate now. I will go in and check out the software and get the whole experience on how easy and difficult might be.

I do play all of the live dealer games that I promote, if only to make sure that I am promoting quality products. Since I am in the US, I can’t play for real money but I can play on most of my brands with “play” money.
I play on the poker sites that pay your commission into a player account – great tactic that. I like to have a splash on Mega Moolah every now and then too. Apart from that, I’m not really much of a gambler, I just get annoyed and quit when I start losing, rather than chasing losses.
I’ve always thought about what it would be like to play at the casinos I promote, especially the no deposit casinos lol On another note, that sounds like a great way to get information about a casino before writing a review about it
I do play some 888 games and did microgaming when we were doing some video content and needed some content.

Same, I only play on the play money or micro-stake poker rooms. I prefer B&M casinos for real gambling.

I’ve written a book on problem gambling, solely by following my best friend (who was sadly terribly addicted) around casinos in Australia and New Zealand (and of course, turned it into a marketing coup and made money from it) but I never ‘gamble’ online with my own money.
Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy the thrill of getting something for nothing, but I prefer to make money online, withdraw into cash and then head to Vegas once or twice a year and throw down on the craps table (we have none in NZ) ’til 6 in the morn, much more fun that way.
Too many affiliates end up funding their habit with their commissions and never really enjoying the fruits that casino affiliate marketing has to offer.
You have to ‘play’ to get screenshots and material for reviews etc, but that can all be done with free play accounts and your rep can give you clean screen shots.
I do have friends that play online (I never let friends sign up under me as that makes the friendship weird when you know how much they gamble online and you profit from it) and I often ask them for help on reviews etc.
But I’ve never really gambled myself online in almost a decade of casino affiliate marketing and I reckon that’s why I’ve been able to do ok out of it.
Besides, with 30x and up to 50x playthrough requirement, who has time for that anyway?!

I test out all the games and even casino software we promote, especially with casino groups because even though the games and software might be the same – casino groups operate differently.
We also look into how their retention works.
We go after programs which are proactive in converting players.
I personally have an account on every sportsbook I’ve reviewed and tested, otherwise what am I recommending and giving MY opinion on? I do play in several, not very often but from time to time.
People have different approach about this, but I personally feel I cannot recommend and vouch for something I didn’t even take the time to register in and try out.

I play to get a feel of the products I’m promoting.

This is probably part of your strategy in world domination? Good to see you are becoming successful. I like the way you operate btw.
Most platforms out there allow you to play for free. In my experience, all of the payouts are the same as the real play(and the casinos obviously state the same). I dont believe there to be conspiracies of casinos tweaking the payout odds so that free play payout out better, though I imagine many people would like to believe that.
Either way, whether the odds are different or not, it still makes sense to play the games that you are promoting, especially if you can do it for free, so that you have a better understanding of the products that you are promoting. This can also be a benefit to you if you realize that a particular game is a lot of fun, and a casino is running some kind of rewards promotion on that game…you can then promote that to your clients.

Well, when the casino rents the software they can opt for different payouts for certain games, such as slots. Most software providers have a few settings. Doesn’t seem so far fetched that some would request a high payout setting for the play casino and a low payout setting for the money casino. Don’t know how easy that is to implement.
