Last month i withdrew $800us from my Absolute Poker account to Moneybookers, when they converted my money to Canadian dollars they shorted me app $50 on the exchange
I showed a screenshot along with the exchange rate that day to a few people and they all agreed that Moneybookers put a move on my money
Then i withdrew $400ca from Moneybookers to my bank account, the fee on their site for this transaction clearly reads $2.86ca, they charged me $15
So these guys are obviously trying to skim as much money as they can get away with, i can’t really describe it any other way
I’ve never really gotten settled in nice anywhere since Neteller went off, this really sucks, and Moneybookers sucks
December 12, 2007 at 10:18 am #756294AnonymousInactiveMy experience is that moneybookers.com only deducts the fees that are stated on the website – Euro 1.80 if withdrawing to the preferred bank account – the rest of the money is sent on to your bank.
Usually the currency is sent in Euros.
However, many recipient banks do make a charge to their customers for ALL overseas wire-transfers – and that tends to be around the US$15.00 mark.
Most good banks will actually sent out some sort of notication whenever an overseas wire transfer hits an account detailing the amount received, currency, the conversion, and finally the bank fee.
My local bank here does such and I see the exact amount sent by moneybookers.com and a NZ$12.00 fee deducted by my bank.
December 13, 2007 at 2:30 am #756367AnonymousInactiveHey Gooner, if Fenerbahce wins the Champion League it’ll put $75 000 in my pocket lol, i knew you’d like that, it’s down to the final 16, we’ll see what happens, seems unlikely but what more can u expect from a 1000-1 shot
About the Moneybookers, i withdrew $720us from Absolute Poker the other day to Moneybookers, they converted it to $711ca, how does that make sense, the US dollar is worth more, and the official rate at the time of the conversion was $720us = $728.83ca
So u see they are in fact ripping me off yet again, that $15 transfer fee u mentioned may have come from my bank, but i never had any such fees with Neteller
After all is said and done, Moneybookers is taking over 5% of my money on every transaction which is outrageous
I know a lot of reputable casinos have recently dumped Moneybookers as a payment option, and i am going to follow their lead
Moneybookers is a piece of crap
While the actual amount may seem minimal, the principle is a factor, who the hell are they to put my money in their pocket
They are fraud, i don’t know how else to describe it, they advertise fees of $2.86 but in reality charge 10x more
December 13, 2007 at 4:43 am #756375AnonymousInactiveI guess that’s possibly because Neteller ran Canadian accounts so perhaps didn’t actualy qualify as a foreign MT?
Whatever – you’re flogging the wrong horse – blame your bank – not the e-wallet. Both for the fee and the conversion rate which is applied at the target bank usually.
Unless you think there is a special “Nick” fee.
:wink-winkMoneybookers can “get away” with what they say because it’s true. Their fees are maxed at EURO 1.80 per bank transaction – and EURO 0.50 for person to person.
The money is being taken from your pocket by your own bank.
And as for Fenerbahce – it’s just wasted money mate. They were seeded to come 2nd/3rd in the group – they’ve achieved that and will now face a group leader in the 2nd round. I cannot see them getting any further than that.
Unless you can trade it off that bet for a profit before the matches are played it’s simply $100 down the drain.
December 13, 2007 at 6:15 am #756376AnonymousInactiveYou’re money down the drain Gooner lol, what the hell are u talking about, half the team including the coach is Brazilian, and not just any Brazilian, the cool World Cup winning Brazilians, u can take them lightly all u want, and i’ll admit teams like Barcelona look better but these Turks can knock off some big boys in here and i expect at least a final 8 or final 4 finish from them.
And what is your thing with Moneybookers, it has nothing to do with my bank, they are ripping me off on the exchange of currency, this time it was $20 and last time it was over $50, my bank has nothing to do with it, i’m taking US dollars out of my player accounts and Moneybookers is converting them to Canadian dollars and keeping a nice chunk for themselves for performing the currency exchange, which i never even asked for

My 2 most recent withdrawls from Absolute Poker to Moneybookers

I noted the exchange rate at the time of each transaction, the exchange rates don’t vary that much no matter what bank performs the exchange
It’s like this
$960us = $886ca < That is pretty funny, it's like the one day in history that the Canadian dollar was worth slightly more than the US, they stiffed for over $50 on that one $720us = $711ca < While Moneybookers may think the Canadian dollar is worth more than the US, the rest of the world doesn't, this one is only around a $20 stiff, so it looks like they're getting better So explain to me Paul, how am i not getting ripped off here This has nothing to do with the transaction fee of $2.86 they charge me for withdrawing to my bank, or the additional $15 fee imposed by my bank Don’t just stand up for them because they are your people, admit it, they are low life thieves who took advantage of Neteller’s bad situation to step in and loot everyone, now people are on to them and they’re getting dumped, and hopefully they’ll get pounded too as an added bonus.
December 13, 2007 at 9:05 am #756381AnonymousInactiveNick – it still appears that you got “shafted” by your bank who added the fees – and lit looks like they’re using an intermediate bank for forex transactions.
I use Moneybookers.com all the time – and never get charged anything OTHER than the stated fees outlined.
I’m not sure how they’re “my people” they are simply my preferred e-wallet for moving money about6 at close to zero cost.
December 13, 2007 at 10:26 am #756384AnonymousInactivePaul, there is no “my bank”
I withdrew $960us from Absolute Poker to Moneybookers, and again $720us from Absolute Poker to Moneybookers
That’s all who’s involved here, 2 parties, Absolute Poker and Moneybookers
Somewhere $80 is missing, and i’m pretty sure Absolute Poker didn’t take it
The $960us showed up as $886ca in my Moneybookers, the equivalent was actually $940ca, the $720us showed up as $711ca, again the equivalent should’ve been $730ca
So who is taking my missing money, i didn’t volunteer to become a patsy in a Moneybookers Forex scam, i’m just trying to get my money
Meanwhile, i just received a payout from Click2pay which was also converted, and there was not a problem, i got exactly what i was supposed to get, and only payed the minimal fee they listed
As if i would bring this up if it wasn’t true, while other people like yourself may be on good terms with them or don’t have trouble with their service, they are clearly and very intentionally ripping me off
LOL, i just saw this
These guys are my old enemies from WW1 and WW2, i guess i couldn’t expect them to just go about business with honour, some people never change, Paul you gotta remember who these guys are, wink wink, everything makes perfect sense now, i couldn’t figure out why they would be thiefing my money but now it’s all very clear

U gotta love it, it’s the whole gang, Nazi’s, Jews, NATO, Geneva and CERN, Argentina that haven for the Zionist empire, England of course is always sniffing around when money is involved, and land to be divided
Needless to say i just took all my money out of here, i wouldn’t trust these guys with one cent of my money, they wouldn’t even throw me a crumb if i was starving and they walked by me
I like the way they worded their profiles, they should let me word it for them, hmm, these guys like to rape the land and profiteer from the suffering of others, if u have something of value they will come take it from u and keep u as a slave to fuel their industrialist empire, they initiate wars and then retreat to tropical locals as others die to fill their pockets, only to reappear at their own whim once the dust has settled to set up shop and do it again and again
Ya i think i got my characters down pretty good
Wadda u say to that Gooner, it’s all just paranoia in my head right, these guys wouldn’t do nobody wrong eh mate
December 13, 2007 at 3:05 pm #756398AnonymousInactiveOK I’ll remind myself to check how much I actually got charged when I get home. I did a withdraw last month from MB to my bank. I use PC Finan, and luckily I got a call from my CIBC branch that they had $ waiting for me. I know there were some fees involved, more than advertised.
Why don’t you withdraw straight from the pokerroom?
With Click2pay your account is in cdn$ so there really shouldn’t be any conversion issues.

I think that I was right to ignore your posts for the last 12 months.
And that I should have known better than to help correct your mistaken rant.
NICK IGNORE MODE BACK ON

NICK IGNORE MODE BACK ON
:tongue:Ya just go off on your little island there, New Zealand or whatever u call it, now’s not the time for u to stick your head in the real world
Interesting how i type “moneybookers” in google search and out pops your site right on top of page 1
Hmm, i believe i was initially correct by referring to these guys as “your people”
Please don’t make up stuff now, u had no intention of helping me, but were merely sticking up for your boys, ain’t no mistaken rant here on my part, it’s all very legitimate and well deserved
Typical Gooner behaviour, completely ignoring fact and only doing what’s best for Gooner while protecting his own interests, you’re a character, as if i didn’t know already what kind of guy u are
