So I am really worried about this!
Who gets comission when the customer deposits:
1- The affiliate who sent the customer first but didnt download and didnt deposit?
OR
2- the affiliate who sent the customer later and downloaded and deposit?
June 5, 2006 at 10:25 pm #694644AnonymousInactiveDepends on how the cookie is set up.
The majority of programs now have session cookies, where they expire in no more than 3 days. They can be overridden by a new one if the player clicks from another webmaster’s link.
A couple, like Referback, have eons long cookies, that may never expire. So, the first hit will always get the player.
June 6, 2006 at 7:26 am #694681AnonymousInactiveWhat about Playtech casinos?!
June 6, 2006 at 7:30 am #694682AnonymousInactiveIt might depend on which Playtech you’re talking about.
Cpays for example seems to give whoever got the first casino in their group, all the casinos in their group. Or something like that. I’m still not exactly clear how this works.
June 6, 2006 at 9:16 am #694691AnonymousInactiveYou mean if someone long time ago visited one of their casinos and they deposit one year later when I send them they dont get comission?
June 6, 2006 at 12:16 pm #694699AnonymousInactiveIf you’re replying to me about the ‘1 year later’ question… like I said.. I’m still a little confused in how they do things so I might be mistaken. Someone here must know this answer.
June 6, 2006 at 12:26 pm #694701AnonymousInactiveReferback is like that…the one year later thing.
Also, there is another consideration as well. Fortune and Referback use the “Buddy”, and players who come from you and use the buddy to sign up with other casinos within the group, don’t seem to be getting credited to the affiliate who first referred them, according to JTodd’s audits.
This is a huge consideration, if you can imagine the amount of money involved in such an arrangement.:flush:
June 6, 2006 at 12:43 pm #694704AnonymousInactiveYou need to read the T/C, FAQ’s or ask the affiliate manager what the “number of return days” (Expiry date) is set for and if it credits the first or last affiliate. (ie… gets overwritten)
(For instance, the poster giant Allposters.com has a 10-day return cookie, however the most recent affiliate member earns the commission.)
If no Expiry date is set, the cookie gets deleted when the browser session is closed. (ie… a temporary cookie)
June 6, 2006 at 4:20 pm #694734AnonymousGuestThis is an issue I have not yet decided on…
What is the ideal or most favored – for me it would pretty much be a thumbsuck based on feel, but I would rather this comes from you chaps
short, long? I reckon though the last person who sent the player should get the credit but – when dealing with type-in after a visit to an affiliate site – this is the debatable issue
thoughts…:hmmm:
