Peyton and Eli Manning Take Over Kick of Destiny

Eli and Peyton Manning are the new faces of FanDuel’s popular Super Bowl promotion, the Kick of Destiny. The popular pair of former quarterbacks will square off on a live kicking contest that’s aired during the Big Game and is aimed at earning free bets for FanDuel players.

The Manning brothers are taking over Kick of Destiny duties from another former NFL star, Rob Gronkowski. So far there’s been no word on why Gronk is no longer the pitchman for this promotion (or whether or not he’s going to make a surprise appearance at this year’s kick).

This year’s Kick of Destiny will air during the Fox Pregame Show and is slightly different from previous years. The Mannings will each attempt to kick a 25-yard field goal. Each brother will get three attempts and, if no one makes it, whomever is closest will be declared the winner. Players who correctly predict the outcome will split a $10 million pool of FanDuel bonus bets.

FanDuel Executive Vice President of Marketing, Andrew Sneyd hyped his company’s Super Bowl tradition in a recent press release saying, “With the Kick of Destiny, we set out to make FanDuel a part of Super Bowl Sunday. For year three, we’re raising the stakes by introducing a rivalry and a head-to-head Kick of Destiny competition. Peyton & Eli Manning will make history by competing against each other live for the first time in Super Bowl history. May the best Manning win!”

Peyton Manning summed up the event, and his rivalry with his brother, adding, “Eli and I have always been competitive, and this is going to be a fun way to challenge each other in a completely different way. I’ve been studying film of great kickers and training hard to make sure I bring home the win for everyone in America who picks me to beat Eli.”
