British bookmaking giant Bet365 is jumping on the daily fantasy sports (DFS) bandwagon with a new free-to-play product called Daily Lineups. While Bet365 is reacting to demand in the market with this new offering, it’s also forging into a market category that is under serious review by gaming regulators across the United States.
Daily Lineups follows a pretty standard model for DFS products with an interface that allows players to set a lineup of players aimed at hitting targets in various statistical categories. That player’s lineup is set against another player’s lineup and points are accumulated as players take the field in their various roles.
DFS contests are gaining popularity with US sportsbooks, though their place in the regulated sports betting world is being challenged in several states. Regardless, Bet365 clearly sees a market for the product.
In statements reported on by SBC Americas, Scout Gaming Group CEO Niklas Jönsson lauded the product launch saying, “We’ve now brought to market, a fully localized, and highly competitive free-to-play product in a region where there is considerable competition, a massive market, and even more opportunities for innovative fantasy sports providers and operators. We are very much looking forward to measuring the results with bet365 and ensuring the products deliver on their tremendous potential and the vision of the partnership to bring engagement and excitement to users.”
As of this writing, Daily Lineups is available on Bet35’s sites in Ohio, Virginia, Colorado, Louisiana and New Jersey and utilizes a platform supplied by the Scout Gaming Group.
