One Canadian man, or woman, is funneling some serious cash their way at the online poker tables. A new, unidentified poker player at PokerStars who goes by the handle ‘1Il|1Il|1il|‘ is taking on some of the world’s best and winning big. Nicknamed “Barcode” due to the appearance of their online screenname, the individual is up $1.2 million at PokerStars in the month of October alone.
The sick run by the anonymous online poker player brings to mind Viktor ‘Isildur1’ Blom’s ascension to online poker fame when he won and lost millions in the highest stakes games online before PokerStars signed him to their Team Pro roster thereby revealing his identity.
“Barcode” has flushed Blom of some of his own money during October beating him for $173,000 in a recent session. Barcode can be found playing the $200/$400 pot-limit Omaha games at PokerStars where he (or she) won half a million dollars in a single day last week.
Much speculation exists in the online poker community as to the identity of Barcode. Is he a wealthy Canadian businessman clicking all the right buttons at the moment? Is he a former American poker pro who relocated to Canada in order to play online after Black Friday? Or is he even he at all?
It remains anyone’s guess at this point as to the identity of this already-infamous online poker player. But rest assured the speculation will continue as long as Barcode is raking in huge pots at the online poker tables.
