Microgaming's The Lord of the Rings Online Slot Game Now Live

September 3, 2010 (CAP PR Wire) — Microgaming (www.microgaming.com) today announces the launch of its highly anticipated flagship game, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring™.

The company is developing a series of graphic rich online video slots based on this popular movie Trilogy and will use animation material, themes, and characters, from The Lord of the Rings™ Trilogy motion pictures, including The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring™; The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers™; and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King™. The games will be available to adults in countries where online gaming is permitted.

The online slot game is the first to utilise Microgaming’s new Cinematic Spins™ technology, allowing gamers to see clips from the film with every spin. It features famous scenes from the film, including Ringwraiths during the attack at Weathertop, Balrog in the Mines of Moria, and Uruk-hai in the woods of Middle-earth. Players will also enjoy seeing characters from the films including Frodo, Aragorn, Saruman and the deadly Black Riders.

Roger Raatgever, CEO Microgaming comments: “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring™ is a hugely exciting launch for Microgaming and we’re thrilled to see the game now live with our operators. This new game pushes the limits of what can be done with online slots; the look and feel alone is like an extension of the motion picture, which is known and loved by fans everywhere. This is an important deal for Microgaming and we’re confident that our operators will see a great deal of demand from their players, now the game has been released.”
