Poker Pro Mike "The Mouth" Matusow Joins Poker2Nite This Week

May 4, 2010 (CAP PR Wire) — UB.net’s leading poker news television series, Poker2Nite, continues with episode ten of Season 2 this Wednesday at 11pm EDT on VERSUS.

Co-hosts Joe Sebok and Scott Huff are back with the week’s headline making news from around the world circuit, while Dana Workman dishes up the latest buzz in online chatter and Twitter.

Seebs and Huff welcome Mike Matusow to the set of Poker2Nite. The 2005 Tournament of Champions (“TOC”) winner joins the dynamic on-air duo fresh from celebrating his 42nd birthday; “The Mouth”, who’s an automatic starter in the 2010  TOC line-up, weighs in on the hot debate that’s surrounding the controversial voting process for the TOC event.

Matusow also explains his recent Twitter war with Daniel Negreanu, and previews what to expect from the triple bracelet winner this summer at the 2010 World Series of Poker*. Love him or hate him, there’s no denying he’s one of the game’s most colorful characters at the table, and his “On the Clock” spot promises to be 60 seconds of  Poker2Nite viewing not to be missed.

Also in studio is accomplished mindset coach Sam Chauhan, whose recent shift from the boardroom to the bad beat world of poker has seen him racking up a growing list of success stories of card playing clients, including last month’s WPT  World Champion David Williams, Antonio Esfandiari and Phil Hellmuth. Chauhan details how regular home game players can apply his methods to improve their own bag of Texas Hold ‘em tricks amongst their buddies.

Poker’s headlines include a wrap report from the EPT season finale in Monte Carlo, with special correspondent Gloria Balding talking to eventual winner Nicholas Chouity of Lebanon. The previously unknown Chouity banked US$2.4 million for his win up against another big EPT field of 848 registered players.

In other Monte Carlo news, Seebs and Huff check out the action in the EPT €25,000 High Roller event, which drew Isildur1, aka Viktor Blom, away from his PC screens long enough to join a record field of 113 runners in this event, taken down by Germany’s Tobias Reinkemeier. The online specialist isildur1 made a surprising live appearance in the Monte Carlo high stakes buy-in tournament alongside Tony G, whose offer to stake the young Swede in the PartyPoker Big Game IV last month was accepted prior to Blom’s eventual no-show at the London TV tournament.

Closer to home, the co-anchors discuss the WSOP* Circuit event  at Caesars Palace, which saw a much smaller but stacked field of 150 battle it out for a share of the $717,500 total prize pool. Andrew Lichtenberger came out on top for a first place prize of $190,137.

With this result comes the end of the WSOP* Circuit events before the real deal kicks off at the Rio on May 28th.  Seebs reveals his top three value tournaments at the 2010 WSOP*, perfect for players on a limited budget looking to parlay their small cash outlay into a bigger bankroll.

The sharp witted Dana Workman delivers  the best of the week’s online chatter, breaking down the major stories featured on the forums, on twitter and on industry news sites. Join her for the pick of the ‘Reader Mailbag’ answered here by Seebs himself.

Poker2Nite viewers in the U.S. can catch the latest episode each Wednesday at 11pm EDT on Versus. Fans of the show outside of the U.S. can catch Poker2Nite on SportsNet in Canada and The Poker Channel in Europe. Viewers should consult their local listings for exact airtimes.
