The bill in question hasn’t even officially been signed into law yet, but a New Jersey online gaming software company is banking that the Garden State will be the first state to regulate online casino gaming.
The company, High 5 Games, has already launched a separate news website called NJ Gaming News to cover the new Internet gaming industry in Atlantic City.
“We decided to create NJ Gaming News because we felt there was a need for it,” said Anthony Singer, president and CEO of High 5 Games. “The New Jersey gaming industry is in the midst of transformative times, and we wanted to provide one place where anyone could go to learn all of the most recent developments.”
Based in Mahwah, High 5 Games also hopes to be New Jersey’s — and probably the U.S.A’s — first fully regulated, fully legal online gaming company.
Though it’s been in operation since 1995, and though it regards itself as “the leading content developer of the gaming industry”, the company doesn’t operate on the level of other international online gaming software developers like Microgaming and Playtech.
That, however, may someday change; the new online gambling law in New Jersey could represent a golden future for High 5 and other smaller, American-based companies.
“With the state legislature’s decision to legalize internet gaming, New Jersey now becomes the center of the U.S. iGaming industry,” Singer added in another news release. “As a licensed supplier within New Jersey and as the creator of online games on legal European sites, High 5 Games is poised to become the market-leading supplier of online content and technology in the U.S.”
